Job description

Position: DSS Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA (Onsite)
Long Term
Job Duties
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation.
  • Evaluate alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems using SCCM and ServiceNow.
  • Perform and oversees analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, imaging, and disposal.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analyses, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Conduct analyses at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, drivers, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software imaging builds and deployment.
  • Deploy, maintain, and update a secure standard image for all environments / domains. This includes the master images and new images under development for deployment.
  • Master and new Images for client systems
  • Master and new secure images for non-standard systems
  • Provide support for the standard image
  • Update all images quarterly as a deliverable.
  • Engineer images for deployment via SCCM, via Distribution points, and via Microsoft Infrastructure technologies. Ensure engineering enable patching capabilities as per industry standards and security requirements.
  • Ensure all engineering activities include proper documentation for methodology for creation, deployment, patching, Tiers I / II / III / IV Support of HW and SW, and End-User usage.
  • Engineer images for Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 11 Operating Systems.

Experience & Skills Required
  • years related experience using SCCM, WSUS, and 3rd party software updates in a imaging distribution facility
  • Must have 5 or more years of experience in image creation, updating, and deployment.
  • Must have 1 or more years of experience using standard image support tools (examples: Microsoft, USMT, WSUS, SCCM)
  • Must have 1 or more years of experience using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) which was formerly Business Desktop Deployment
  • Must have 1 or more years of experience using Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (Windows ADK), formerly Windows Automated Installation Kit (Windows AIK or WAIK)
