MA Receptionist

This position includes Medical Assistant and Receptionist job responsibilities. Under general supervision, provides back office support for physicians and clerical staff. Chart patient's chief complaint, may assist w/history, and take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse respiration, height and weight). Follow physician orders and give the patient their discharge instructions. Complete order in EMR and submit to Superbill including any other charges. Follow route slips for physicals and complete the necessary portions of forms. Complete patient registration process and update as required. Greets patients, check-in and check-out process. Handling busy phones, maintaining proper documentation of all paperwork, verify insurance eligibility using eligibility list, automated systems, Medi-Cal POS and insurance representatives, medical record functions, including scanning correspondence, forms. Performs general secretarial duties including typing, word processing, shorthand, filing, answering phones, and making copies. Greets, assists, and directs patients, visitors, and other Hospital callers. Day to day operation of the front office, maintaining an organized work environment while meeting customer needs in the Sleep Disorders Center. May perform other duties as assigned.
