Shipco Transport Inc., a leading international cargo transportation company, has an immediate opening at our HOU branch located in Houston, TX, for an experienced FCL Coordinator.
We are looking for a candidate who is proactive, dynamic, highly motivated, reliable, and who understands and appreciates the importance of team effort. The candidate should also possess the ability to 'think outside the box', think and work outside their local market, and be aware of various time zones and regional norms for all parties involved.
Key Responsibilities
  • Quote and book container shipments with ocean carriers, including inland trucking, warehousing, and overseas deliveries.
  • Update customers with vessel schedule and trucking changes.
  • Negotiate optimal rates with steamship lines and trucking vendors.
  • Provide operational support and guidance for efficient and cost-effective routings.
  • Provide client support and offer solutions for shipment challenges, which include communication with the terminal, steamship line, and truckers.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Work experience in a 3PL/multi-client environment or NVOCC
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a willingness to learn new software applications
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • General knowledge of world geography
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
