Job Summary
This position requires the ability to successfully operate the truck scales allowing product to be accurately weighed prior to leaving Company premises and assuring that accurate amounts are recorded for billing purposes. The candidate must have knowledge of products, inventories and the location of materials on Company property. Position must successfully manage daily cash sales and collection of cash, checks and credit card transactions. Position requires a working knowledge of state highway weight regulations and laws and knowledge of customer hauling trucks and their capacities. Good interpersonal skills are necessary to interact with people both inside and outside the Company. Must be flexible and able to work unusual work schedules when needed, based on customer demand.
Essential Functions
Weighs and records incoming materials such as gasoline, diesel fuel, explosives, scrap sales, etc.
Record weights accurately and legibly on weight tickets or other documentation
Maintain cash fund accurately and report any discrepancies
Operates the truck scales and generates correct tickets for the customers
Resolve discrepancies in weights by recalibrating scales or reweighing materials
Maintain and calibrate weighing equipment according to manufacturer's specifications
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations governing the weighing of materials
Greets customers in a professional and polite manner
Maintains the office in a neat and professional manner
Clearly communicates with customers to bill transactions correctly
Handles cash sales by collecting cash, checks or credit card transactions
Listens to customer issues and or complaints and works to resolve them through communication with the sales/dispatch department
Answers phones and handles office duties/projects as requested
Prepares scales for daily use; works with Plant Admin Support Supervisors to troubleshoot and repair issues
Directs customers to piles and instructs load out personnel of customer needs.
Other duties as may be assigned.

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
Preferred 2-4 years prior experience in a customer service role, preferably in an aggregate setting weighing materials;

Other Requirements
Work environment is in an office setting and may require sitting/standing for extended periods of time.
Position may require bending, stooping, or reaching above shoulders to resupply the ticket feed into printer.
May be required to walk on uneven surfaces to travel to and from the scale house to the plant office.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment which can be noisy and often dusty as well.
Will have to open and close ticketing window as needed.
Multi-tasking is required to ticket materials, answer phones, communicate with customers and enter data into the computer.
Travel: 10%. May be asked to provide coverage at another plant, other than home location.

Hourly Range: the hourly range for this role is between $24.02 - $33.59.  This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package.  When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
