Role : IT Product Owner Consultant – Product & Portfolio Master

Location : Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)

Type : Long Term

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Product Owner with strong expertise in Product Master and Portfolio Master platforms within the investment management domain.

The role will focus on building and enhancing master data platforms, ensuring accurate, governed, and scalable data across the investment lifecycle. This individual will bridge business, data, and technology teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage backlog for Product Master and Portfolio Master initiatives
  • Lead design and build of master data platforms, including portfolio and product structures
  • Translate business/data requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Define data models, hierarchies, and relationships (portfolios, sleeves, products, strategies)
  • Partner with tech teams on database design, data integration, and architecture
  • Drive data governance, ownership, and data quality frameworks
  • Ensure integration with downstream systems (reporting, performance, IBOR, vendor platforms)
  • Support portfolio/product onboarding workflows and lifecycle management
  • Lead UAT, validation, and data reconciliation across systems

Required Experience

  • 10+ years in technology/business analysis within Investment Management
  • 5+ years as Product Owner in Agile/Scrum environment
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Product Master / Portfolio Master platforms
    • Portfolio structures, sleeves, accounts, product hierarchies
  • Strong understanding of investment data lifecycle (front-to-back)
  • Experience with IBOR, Security Master, performance and attribution data
  • Strong database and data modeling skills (SQL, relational structures)
  • Experience integrating with vendor platforms:
    • FactSet, Bloomberg, Aladdin, State Street, MSCI, etc

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in large-scale master data platform build or migration
  • Experience with data pipelines, ingestion, and transformation
  • Exposure to data governance, stewardship, and DQ frameworks

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI/automation-driven data workflows
  • Familiarity with Microsoft/GitHub Copilot tools
