Job description

Purpose

The IT Operation Technology Specialist is a member of the IT Operations Team. The position is involved in day to day OT (operation technology) & application support and project activities. This person is also the primary contact for IT Operations Manager Customer Relationship and for Operations people for all application issues, projects and new requirements.

The main functions of the position are:

  • Support for operation technology systems on shop floor in cooperation with local maintenance and IT
  • Directly administers and supervises OT applications & systems which are not under 3rd party support or cooperates with 3rd party on that subject
  • Actively participate on new projects
  • Support local users with any IT requirement

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Daily ticket operation including escalation if necessary
  • Makes suggestions for improvements to the OT Design (HW & SW)
  • Trains IT people and users on specific OT application and systems, sharing best practice
  • Involved in all IT projects where OT is touched, working as IT representative in project preparation phase with business
  • Assists business with technical issues related to OT
  • Involved in IT processes (Incident and Major incident management, Problem management, etc.)

Knowledge/Experience/Skills Needed

  • Good overview of OT systems
  • Overall knowledge of manufacturing systems like SCADA, MES, PLC, etc
  • Experience in PLC or SCADA programming is desired
  • Experience with industrial platforms from AVEVA (Wonderware), Rockwell, SIEMENS, AB or others
  • Overview of IT systems used in production environment (AD, MS-SQL, application servers)
  • Conflict and Problem Solving/Analysis
  • Ability to bring solutions to complex business problems
  • Ability to effectively function in a diverse, multicultural environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Network support experience
  • Windows 10 client support and imaging experience
