Job description

Position Summary

The SBA Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing the management and performance of the SBA loan portfolio, in most cases following final disbursement. This role involves collaborating with internal business partners to ensure effective portfolio management, while fostering and maintaining long-term client relationships. The SBA Portfolio Manager plays a critical role in driving portfolio performance, mitigating risk, and ensuring compliance with SBA regulations in accordance with the team's standard
operating procedures. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversite and support to an assigned portfolio of loans/relationships with a heavy concentration in 7(a) lending products.
  • Introduce, build and maintain as the subject matter expert relationship for a portfolio in excess of 100 or more transactions
  • Collect and assess loan exceptions to include tax returns, financial statements, and personal financial statements from assigned portfolio.
  • Manage past due payments, while identifying and escalating loans that show potential signs of trouble
  • Interim involvement in potentially deteriorating credits
  • Monitor loans identified as high risk in the PARRiS Report
  • Prepare quarterly Problem Loan Reports in accordance with credit or business line requirements
  • Participate in SBB Compliance and Line Reporting as needed.
  • Complete required annual portfolio reviews in compliance with credit and SBA Regulations
  • Analyze, review and independently assess and monitor business performance. This includes watching for change in the business, or project, performance prudent research and maintaining secondary market research.
  • Facilitate servicing actions for borrowers, including conducting eligibility reviews to determine SBA compliance, and guiding borrowers through the process to ensure adherence to SBA regulations and requirements.
  • Work with and alongside the Special Assets Team to provide guidance and expertise for transactions that move to Bankruptcy, litigation, liquidation, or guarantee purchase.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
  • Knowledge of:
  • Small Business Administration 7a, Express, Capline, and 504 loan programs.
  • Loan portfolio management and oversight
  • Familiarity with loan documentation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • SBA standard operating procedures, lending policies, and GGL compliance standards.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, nCino, Docusign
  • Ability to:
  • Multi-task and work independently
  • Work cooperatively with staff and other lines of business associates to problem solve, improve processes, and drive decision-making.
  • Take independent action within established guidelines and develop new procedures and approaches when needed
  • Perform duties under frequent time pressures
  • Education and Training:
  • Bachelor's degree within Business/Finance or equivalent transferrable experience - required.
  • 5+ years of experience in SBA loan underwriting, analysis, or portfolio management - required.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $92,000 - $120,000 annual)
