In operation since 1982, Superior Hardwoods is one of the largest sawmills in Indiana. This facility utilizes some of the latest innovations in lumber sorting and optimizing technology to ensure that our clients receive consistent quality hardwood. In 2017, Superior Hardwoods became a location of The Baillie Group.
Operations Administrator Summary:
Our operation in Montezuma, IN is hiring an Operations Administrator. This is a full time, permanent opportunity working for a world class hardwood lumber manufacturer.
  • Receive, enter, and maintain log receipt information using log inventory management software.
  • Verify log deliveries and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Process vendor payments for log purchases and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Generate log purchase contracts per buyer instructions.
  • Generate and process customer sales invoices.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Create, process, and maintain production runs and production reports.
  • Utilize SAP and other software systems to enter, track, and report operational and accounting data.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Support plant management with administrative projects and special reporting requests.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, truck drivers, and internal departments.
  • Perform general office and administrative duties to support business operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Operations Administrator Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous office experience in a manufacturing, sawmill, forestry products, or industrial environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and related office software.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience with inventory management, production reporting, or accounting processes preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive business information.
