Sauna information

What is a sauna attendant?

A sauna attendant is a staff member responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and proper operation of saunas in facilities such as spas, gyms, or hotels. Their duties typically include cleaning the sauna area, ensuring the temperature and humidity levels are safe, providing guests with information on sauna use, and sometimes offering towels or refreshments. Sauna attendants help create a relaxing and hygienic environment for guests, addressing any concerns and ensuring a positive experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sauna attendant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sauna Attendant, you need basic knowledge of health and safety procedures, facility maintenance, and customer service, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with cleaning tools, water quality testing kits, and scheduling or booking systems is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure help attendants provide a welcoming and safe environment. These skills ensure guest satisfaction, proper facility upkeep, and adherence to health regulations.

What are some common challenges faced by sauna attendants, and how can they be addressed?

Sauna attendants often face challenges such as maintaining strict cleanliness standards, managing temperature controls, and ensuring the safety and comfort of guests. These responsibilities require attentiveness and strong communication skills, as attendants must regularly monitor the environment and promptly respond to any issues or guest concerns. Staying organized and following established protocols helps address these challenges, while ongoing training can further enhance service quality and safety.

What is the difference between Sauna vs Massage Therapist?

AspectSaunaMassage Therapist
CredentialsNo formal certification required, but some may have health or wellness certificationsLicensed or certified in massage therapy, with specific training and licensing requirements
Work EnvironmentHealth clubs, spas, wellness centers, gyms, or standalone sauna facilitiesSpas, wellness centers, clinics, or private practices
Industry UsagePart of health and wellness services focusing on relaxation and detoxificationFocus on physical therapy, relaxation, pain relief, and therapeutic massage

While saunas are primarily used for relaxation and health benefits without formal licensing, massage therapists require certification and licensing to provide therapeutic services. Both roles are common in wellness industries but serve different purposes: saunas promote relaxation and detoxification, whereas massage therapists offer therapeutic touch to address physical issues.

About Us

Born from a homemade trailer on the banks of an Irish river, our concept has grown into Ireland’s leading wellness community. Find out more here. Now, we’re bringing that same fire to Denver.

We believe slowing down, sweating it out, and connecting with others is essential for the soul. We aren't a club for elite athletes; we are a destination for everyday people who value the ritual of releasing stress and finding a like-minded community.

Having successfully scaled to multiple unique locations across the Atlantic, we are opening our first Denver home. As we grow our footprint in Colorado, we are looking for a team to help us build this community just as intentionally as we built our first.

Our team is held together by five values. If they sound like you, you’ll feel right at home:

Give a damn: You care deeply about what you do and the standard you do it to. If something isn’t right, you take ownership and act.

Get things done: You value action and outcomes over over-analysis. You move fast and follow through until the job is finished to a high standard.

Be a team player: You put the team ahead of ego, titles, or personal wins. You show up for the people around you and do what’s needed, even when it isn’t strictly “your job.”

No bull: You’re honest, direct, and transparent, even when the truth is a little uncomfortable. You say what you mean, with respect.

Keep your promises: You do what you say you’ll do, for guests and teammates alike. If something slips, you flag it early, own it, and fix it.
