Personalized Nursing LIGHT House (PNLH), a leading behavioral health provider with over 35 years of experience, is seeking a qualified and compassionate Primary Therapist to join our team!

We are looking for a part-time therapist to provide clients with trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care in a structured residential setting on Saturday.

All services integrate substance use disorder, mental health, and primary care into cohesive, client-centered programs using the LIGHT Model of Care, a SAMHSA-recognized Promising Practice grounded in dignity, respect, and empowerment.

Position Summary

As a Primary Therapist, you will deliver individual and group therapy to adult clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. You will use the LIGHT model to guide clinical decision-making and support clients in achieving sustainable recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide weekly individual therapy for assigned clients

  • Facilitate therapeutic groups weekly on PNLH-selected topics

  • Use the LIGHT model in assessment, education, and counseling

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify and respond to client needs

  • Monitor service utilization and coordinate care with internal and external providers

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with authorization and billing requirements

  • Maintain client confidentiality and participate in case conferences

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree and licensure (LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC, etc.)

  • CADC, CAADC, or MCBAP Development Plan (support provided to obtain plan if not currently held)

Preferred

  • Minimum two years of experience in substance use disorder counseling

  • Training in trauma-informed care

  • Experience treating co-occurring mental health disorders

  • Familiarity with authorization processes for Michigan’s PIHP system

Compensation
  • Competitive hourly rate up to $30.00, commensurate with education and experience
