Our capabilities include cyber space operations, cyber defense and resiliency, vulnerability research, ubiquitous technical surveillance, data intelligence, lifecycle mission enablement, and software modernization. Nightwing brings disruptive technologies, agility, and competitive offerings to customers in the intelligence community, defense, civil, and commercial markets.
Nightwing is seeking a cleared and experienced Satellite Installer/Field Engineer in the Fairfax VA area. The selected candidate will be responsible for repairing, testing, and deploying satellite devices in support of a global network. Work as a member of a team for installation of new Satellite antenna systems ranging in size from 1 meter to 4 meters at worldwide locations. Travel OCONUS to conduct site surveys as well as, install/ repair RF equipment with relations to network/ facilities equipment and specifications. Design, update and record all areas of Satellite systems installations and connectivity, using customer provided procedures and direction. Train customers in the operation of equipment and testing of installed satellite systems. Compose, review, and provide updates to technical documentation.
Required Skills:
  • Skilled in Satellite terminal operations, circuit restoration, maintenance, installation, (to include fiber optics), and upgrading of communication facilities
  • Proficient with test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, Digital data test sets, Oscilloscopes, Power meters and Multi-meters, both loop and end-to-end testing.
  • Basic knowledge of trades and safety protocols to include but not limited to; Electrical (commercial) Carpentry (most hand and power tools), procedures for working around Heavy Equipment (cranes, forklifts, Etc..).
  • Knowledge of relevant RF/Satellite technologies.

Desired Skills:
  • Understanding of Customer field environment
  • Experience with OCONUS travel
