Position Summary:
The SAP MDG Finance Functional Consultant is responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) solutions for financial master data within a federal SAP S/4HANA environment. This role collaborates with government stakeholders, functional teams, and technical resources to establish governance processes for financial master data, improve data quality, and ensure consistent financial information across integrated SAP landscapes. The consultant applies subject matter expertise to configure SAP MDG Finance functionality, implement governance best practices, and support enterprise master data initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, data integrity, and mission success.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions and business process workshops to define financial master data governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders and business partners to capture business rules, document functional requirements, and design financial master data models.
  • Configure the SAP MDG Finance framework, including data modeling, UI FPM modeling, and process modeling.
  • Configure change request workflows, validation rules, and derivation rules using SAP Business Rule Framework Plus (BRF+).
  • Support governance processes for financial master data, including General Ledger Accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Internal Orders, Company Codes, and other financial master data objects.
  • Configure the Data Replication Framework (DRF) and support financial master data synchronization using SOA Services, Web Services, and IDocs.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Controlling, Procurement, Supply Chain, and technical teams to ensure accurate and consistent financial master data across integrated SAP environments.
  • Develop functional design documentation, configuration documentation, and business process documentation.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Troubleshoot SAP MDG Finance production issues and support ongoing system enhancements.
  • Participate in process mapping and change management activities to support the successful adoption of SAP MDG solutions.
  • Travel on rare occasions to client sites to provide on-site support.
  • Adhere to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, including actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 5+ years of relevant SAP Master Data Governance or SAP Finance experience (5-7 years without a Bachelor's degree).
  • Demonstrated experience configuring SAP MDG Finance, including data modeling, workflow configuration, UI FPM modeling, Business Rule Framework Plus (BRF+), and the Data Replication Framework (DRF).
  • Strong understanding of SAP Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) master data within SAP S/4HANA, including General Ledger Accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Internal Orders, and Company Codes.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, facilitating workshops, developing functional design documentation, and supporting solution delivery.
  • Experience supporting multi-system SAP landscapes and enterprise financial master data governance initiatives.
  • Ability to exercise judgment within defined practices and handle moderately complex SAP MDG Finance issues with minimal oversight.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).

Nice to Have:
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementations, federal ERP modernization programs, or Department of Defense (DoD) SAP environments.
  • Familiarity with SAP Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), Materials Management (MM), Procurement, and cross-functional integrations.
  • Experience supporting SOA Services, Web Services, IDocs, and enterprise integration technologies.
  • Relevant SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA Finance, or SAP FI/CO certifications.

Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
