Job description

Role- SAP Basis Consultant

Location: Houston, TX. (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Basis Consultant to work onsite at the customer location in Houston, TX. The consultant will play a key role in SAP S/4HANA (E4HANA) installation, system migration, and technical operations, while acting as a primary interface between customer stakeholders and technical teams.

This role requires strong hands-on expertise along with excellent communication skills to manage frequent customer interactions and drive successful project delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute SAP S/4HANA (E4HANA) installations, upgrades, and system configurations
  • Perform system migrations (SAP OS/DB Migration, DMO, System Conversion, Landscape Transformation)
  • Work closely with customer teams through frequent onsite discussions and technical workshops
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between client stakeholders and offshore/remote teams
  • Plan and execute SAP system sizing, landscape design, and architecture recommendations
  • Perform SAP system refreshes, client copies, and transport management
  • Monitor and optimize SAP system performance and stability
  • Ensure high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies are in place
  • Collaborate on cloud migration initiatives (Azure/AWS/GCP) if applicable
  • Troubleshoot critical production issues and provide root cause analysis
  • Support cutover planning and go-live activities
  • Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with best practices

Required Skillset

  • Strong hands-on experience in:
    • SAP NetWeaver & S/4HANA Basis Administration
    • E4HANA installation and configuration
    • SAP OS/DB Migration (SUM with DMO)
    • SAP Kernel upgrades, Support Pack implementations
  • Experience in SAP HANA database administration
  • Knowledge of SAP system architecture and landscape design
  • Familiarity with:
    • SAP Solution Manager / Focused Run
    • SAP Transport Management System (TMS)
    • SAP Security and User Administration
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills

Customer Engagement & Consulting Skills

  • Ability to engage directly with customer stakeholders onsite
  • Conduct regular technical discussions, status updates, and workshops
