Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
The QA/QC Inspector plans and performs QA/QC inspections of the plant and material handling equipment as effectively and economically as possible while being consistent with plant policies, practices and procedures. Moreover, this individual will assist with safety management for the maintenance department as well as drives and manages the CIP. This teammate will need the ability to work in a team setting or independently on projects that will ensure the division reaches its goals.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Knows, understands, and follows all Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Participates in incident investigations, audits of work performance, layered safety audits, and PM compliance.
  • Develop, prioritize, plan and schedule of required QA/QC procedures and management of required documentation in SAP.
  • QA/QC planning, scheduling and execution of QA/QC inspection (management of 3rd party if needed).
  • Meetings with Superintendent, Shift foremen and Contractors (3rd party) to manage work priority, develop job plans, define crafts and skills and engage the proper resources to develop a safe, effective and efficient work control plan.
  • Document Control for QA/QC documents of contractor documents.
  • Management (coordination and documentation) of mandated inspection for plant equipment and tools.
  • Management of safety related topics for maintenance (recurring inspections of all tools, cranes, hoists, pressure vessels, ladders) in coordination with plant safety department.
  • CIP (Continuous Improvement Process)
  • Administration and coordination of CI (Continuous Improvement) process for plant equipment
  • Administration and coordination of countermeasures and modifications based on results of RCFA or near miss analysis.
  • Uses test equipment and diagnostic equipment to perform troubleshooting.
  • Operate mobile equipment and certify as mobile equipment operator for specific equipment (ie, forklift, carry deck, crane).
  • Knowledgeable in Lockout/tag out procedures.
  • Work shift / flexible schedule if needed.
  • Input information in maintenance tracking system (SAP PM)
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis on a technical field preferred.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), maintenance management and ERP software.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production, maintenance, engineering and/or process improvement roles including leading teams of people.
  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand and work for more than 2 hours in though environmental. conditions (high temperature, high humidity, noise & dust), and withstand heights of up to 500 feet.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, verbally and in writing. Skills will be used to produce quality reports and thorough instructions and directions.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC-card.
