Job description

Job Title: SAP Functional Lead Location: Parkville, Missouri, United States Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $115K-$130K Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40.0

Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Functional Lead to drive the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP solutions across key business process areas: Record to Report (RTR), Procure to Pay (PTP), Logistics Planning & Scheduling (LPS), Order Management (OM), and Quality & Testing Integration (QTI). This role will act as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and IT, ensuring SAP solutions align with organizational goals, improve operational efficiency, and support digital transformation initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Parkville, MO. Successful candidates must be able to provide proof of ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. This position is not open to corp-to-corp, subcontractor or independent consulting arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP solutions across multiple key business process areas, including Record to Report (RTR), Procure to Pay (PTP), Logistics Planning & Scheduling (LPS), Order Management (OM), and Quality & Testing Integration (QTI).
  • Act as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and IT to ensure SAP solutions align with organizational goals and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead functional design, configuration, and delivery in SAP modules such as FI/CO, MM/AP, SD, LPS, and QTI.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to define process improvements and SAP roadmap initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to functional analysts, consultants, and offshore teams, promoting best practices in SAP solution design and governance.
  • Oversee SAP project lifecycle including implementations, upgrades, enhancements, testing, and go-live activities.
  • Coordinate requirement gathering, workshops, and solution walkthroughs with technical teams.
  • Manage data migration, system testing (SIT/UAT), and support production deployment.
  • Define and implement testing strategies, oversee test execution, defect resolution, and ensure system quality and compliance.
  • Support ongoing system optimization, troubleshoot complex functional issues, and monitor performance for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain system documentation including configurations, processes, and governance policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8–12+ years of SAP functional experience, with hands-on expertise in RTR (FI/CO), PTP (MM/AP), OM (SD), LPS, and QTI modules.
  • Proven leadership in SAP implementation or transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of cross-functional SAP landscape integration and business process knowledge across finance, supply chain, and operations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP certifications, SAP Solution Manager, SAP Activate, or Agile methodologies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks; experience with multi-region SAP deployments is advantageous.
