Job Summary:

Position Overview - The SAP Procurement and Planning Lead (MM- Purchasing, PP-MRP, QM) will be responsible for leading Procurement and Planning streams within the SAP S/4HANA transformation program.
This role combines deep functional knowledge of SAP Materials Management (MM)- Purchasing, Quality Management (QM), , and Production Planning MRP (PP-MRP) modules with project leadership and stakeholder management skills. The consultant will act as the Workstream Lead, ensuring that business requirements are translated into efficient processes, system configurations, and successful deployment across global operations.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement and Planning Process

Lead end-to-end SAP Logistics workstreams covering Procurement, Quality and Planning
Oversee solution design, configuration, and testing for MM, QM, PP-MRP modules.
Ensure alignment between business requirements and system design, adhering to S/4HANA best practices and global template.
Support key Procurement and planning process, Procure to pay for direct materials, Subcontracting, serial number management, Receiving inspection from external suppliers, MRP for procured materials, MRP Exception messages, Intercompany procurement

Support supplier communication processes including EDI, Ariba, Supplier Portal for order acknowledgements, ASNs, Invoices, etc.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to design global templates and roll-out strategies.

S/4HANA Migration & Integration

Support ECC to S/4HANA brownfield or greenfield migration, including fit-gap analysis, data readiness, testing, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization.
Manage integrations with PP, SD, FI/CO, and QM modules.
Work with functional and technical teams on IDoc, ALE, and middleware-based logistics interfaces.
Oversee master data preparation for materials, business partners, info records, source lists, contracts, pricing

Project Management & Coordination

Act as procurement and planning workstream lead, driving deliverables and timelines across multiple teams.
Facilitate workshops, design sessions, and cross-functional discussions.
Provide project status, risk mitigation, and progress reports to program leadership.
Coordinate testing, training, and documentation deliverables.

Quality Assurance & Support

Conduct testing cycles and validation for all logistics and warehouse functions.
Support hyper care, troubleshoot post-go-live issues, and coordinate defect resolution.
Provide knowledge transfer and end-user enablement for procurement and planning processes.

Required Skills & Competencies

SAP Functional Expertise

10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP MM-Procurement and PP-MRP modules.
Strong experience with S/4HANA logistics simplifications and configuration.
Proven track record of leading at least 2 full lifecycle SAP implementations or migrations.
Deep understanding of Procure-to-Pay including planning and quality management of externally procured materials.

Integration & Technical Coordination

Experience integrating MM/PP MRP with SD, PP, QM, and FI/CO.
Working knowledge of IDoc, BAPI, and middleware interfaces for logistics data flow.

Project & Communication Skills

Strong project management, planning, and reporting capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across business and IT.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and ensure timely delivery.

Certifications

SAP Certification in MM, PP or QM preferred.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in Manufacturing, Automotive, or Consumer Goods industries.
Exposure to Global Rollouts and Template Deployments.
Familiarity with SAP Activate Methodology and Agile delivery practices.
