Job description

Job Summary

Azure NetApp Files (ANF) is a first-party, fully managed enterprise file service on Microsoft Azure, delivered in deep partnership between NetApp and Microsoft.

We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the strategy, roadmap, and business outcomes for Azure NetApp Files. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the intersection of product strategy, customer engagement, platform innovation, and go-to-market execution. You will define product direction, drive customer adoption, and partner closely with engineering, Microsoft, sales, and strategic customers to deliver differentiated enterprise storage solutions on Azure.

You will own and evolve a portfolio of enterprise storage capabilities, including workload strategy, cost optimization, platform enhancements, and commercial innovation. The role spans multiple enterprise workloads and customer scenarios, with priorities evolving based on customer needs and business objectives.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Workload Strategy & Product Ownership

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for enterprise storage workloads on Azure NetApp Files, including enterprise databases (Oracle, SAP HANA, SQL Server), enterprise file services, virtualization, Kubernetes, and hybrid cloud migration scenarios.
  • Define workload-specific feature requirements, prioritize engineering investments, and drive delivery with cross-functional teams across NetApp and Microsoft Azure product groups.
  • Lead competitive positioning and TCO analysis; develop pricing guidance and field enablement content to accelerate customer adoption.
  • Engage directly with strategic enterprise and ISV accounts; translate customer feedback into roadmap and GTM improvements.

Cost Optimization & Commercial Strategy

  • Own ANF's cost optimization product strategy, including flexible service levels, cool access tiering, and tooling to help customers migrate from on-premises file environments to Azure.
  • Define pricing and packaging models that improve ANF's TCO story and lower the barrier for enterprise customers to adopt and expand on Azure.
  • Build business cases and PRFAQs to align engineering investment with the highest-impact commercial opportunities.

Workload Coverage & Service Expansion

  • Identify and prioritize enterprise file workloads underserved by existing ANF service tiers; define requirements, business justification, and success criteria for expanded workload support.
  • Drive resiliency and availability improvements that meet the needs of business-critical workloads - including those with stringent uptime and recovery requirements.
  • Define go-to-market strategy for new workload segments, including ISV partnerships, field readiness, and customer onboarding.
  • Collaborate across engineering, Azure platform, and Commerce teams to bring new capabilities from development through customer availability.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Executive Influence

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for ANF enterprise file share strategy in customer, partner, and leadership forums.
  • Build and maintain coordination across NetApp engineering, Microsoft product groups, field sales, and ISV partners.
  • Present roadmap, adoption metrics, and business outcomes to NetApp and Microsoft leadership to influence prioritization and investment.
  • Drive scalable sales enablement - competitive positioning, pricing guidance, and launch processes that scale across hundreds of sellers.
Job Requirements
  • 8+ years of product management experience in cloud infrastructure, storage, or enterprise platform products.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering complex, cross-functional products in a cloud-native environment.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise file workloads and protocols (NFS, SMB/CIFS) across workloads such as SAP, VDI, Kubernetes, and databases.
  • Experience driving initiatives involving partner engineering organizations such as hyperscaler product groups.
  • Strong commercial acumen: business cases, pricing models, and translating technical capabilities into revenue impact.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to influence senior leadership across organizational boundaries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with Azure NetApp Files or other enterprise cloud file services.
  • Background in enterprise NAS or file storage platforms.
  • Experience with high-availability storage architectures and enterprise resiliency requirements.
  • Familiarity with on-premises to cloud migration motions and TCO analysis.
  • Experience with ISV ecosystems such as SAP, SAS, or Kubernetes-native storage.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation:
