Position Summary:

The SAP MM Business Process Analyst serves as the primary business subject matter expert for SAP S/4HANA Materials Management (MM), supporting inventory, purchasing, and warehouse-related processes. The role applies working functional knowledge of Sales and Distribution (SD) and integration across MM, SD, WM/EWM, fulfillment, and third-party logistics (3PL) operations. This position partners with Operations, Procurement, Finance, IT, and logistics providers to maintain transaction and inventory accuracy, resolve complex system and process issues, and support SAP enhancements and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary business subject matter expert and super user for SAP S/4HANA Materials Management (MM), providing functional guidance, troubleshooting, and support across inventory, purchasing, and warehouse-related processes.
  • Support integration points across SAP MM, Sales and Distribution (SD), WM/EWM, fulfillment, and 3PL processes, including sales orders, goods issues, goods receipts, inventory transfers, stock adjustments, availability considerations, and other inventory and fulfillment transactions.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory and order transactions between SAP and 3PL operations; analyze discrepancies and transaction errors, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions with Procurement, Warehouse Operations, Finance, IT, and logistics partners.
  • Evaluate SAP and operational processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, controls, process compliance, and system utilization; support enhancements, testing, upgrades, and new process implementations.
  • Develop and maintain SAP procedures, work instructions, reconciliation reports, KPIs, dashboards, and user documentation to support consistent execution and informed decision-making.
  • Provide training, coaching, and functional guidance to SAP business users to promote effective system use and process adherence.
  • Support period-end inventory and order reconciliation activities and resolution of outstanding variances and transaction issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Role provides functional leadership, training, and subject matter guidance to SAP MM business users

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency with SAP S/4HANA Materials Management (MM) and related inventory, purchasing, and fulfillment processes.
  • Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Sales and Distribution (SD), including sales orders, goods issues, availability/inventory considerations, and integration with MM, WM/EWM, warehouse/fulfillment, and 3PL processes; ability to troubleshoot cross-module transaction and process issues.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, reconciliation, purchasing, warehouse operations, and 3PL processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong data analysis, variance analysis, root cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret business-process issues, identify practical solutions, and coordinate corrective actions across multiple functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and user-support skills.
  • Ability to develop clear procedures, reports, KPIs, and user documentation while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Information Systems, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience supporting SAP S/4HANA Materials Management (MM), inventory management, and related business processes.
  • Experience reconciling inventory and transactions between SAP and third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse operations, including goods receipts, adjustments, stock movements, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Procurement, Warehouse Operations, Finance, IT, and external logistics providers.
  • Knowledge of inventory accounting and financial reconciliation and experience with Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, or similar reporting tools preferred.
  • Professional office environment with regular use of a computer and other standard office equipment
  • May occasionally require time in warehouse or operational areas and interaction with third-party logistics operations
  • No travel

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer, including frequent keyboarding and visual and auditory attention.
  • Occasional standing and walking; rare lifting, carrying, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, pushing, or pulling; position generally requires little physical effort.
