Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Inventory and SAP Coordinator supports inventory control processes and SAP system transactions within the plant. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, performing data validation, and assisting in resolving discrepancies to ensure efficient supply chain operations. The coordinator works closely with warehouse, production, procurement, and finance teams to ensure data accuracy and adherence to established processes.

  • Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Inventory and SAP Coordinator supports inventory control processes and SAP system transactions within the plant.
  • The coordinator works closely with warehouse, production, procurement, and finance teams to ensure data accuracy and adherence to established processes.

Inventory Management & Control

  • Coordinates and performs cycle count and physical inventory activities, including planning, scheduling, execution, analysis, and post-count reconciliation.
  • Identifies inventory discrepancies, assists with root cause analysis, and supports corrective actions.
  • Reviews and analyzes variances to identify issues and escalates as needed.
  • Tracks inventory accuracy metrics and prepares reports for review.
  • Validates incoming raw material receipts for accuracy and completeness; identifies and resolves discrepancies with suppliers and Procurement Team.
  • Conducts routine checks of material usage against production entries; collaborates with Production Supervisors to ensure data accuracy and process compliance

SAP System Expertise & Administration

  • Serves as a key user for SAP inventory processes
  • Assists in troubleshooting system issues and escalates when needed.
  • Perform daily validation of SAP transactions to ensure proper sequence, completeness, and compliance with established procedures
  • Reviews scrap transactions and identifies discrepancies.
  • Generates, prints, and manages all SAP-generated labels; creates and maintains custom labeling solutions for special orders.
  • Maintains master data accuracy and provides input on system updates.
  • Provides guidance to team members on SAP inventory procedures.

Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives

  • Identifies process issues and suggests improvements.
  • Assists in maintaining SOPs and work instructions for inventory-related processes.
  • Follows established best practices and procedures.

Data Analysis, Reporting & Communication

  • Compiles and maintains inventory reports and reports tracking key inventory metrics including accuracy rates, turnover, obsolescence, and cycle count performance.
  • Reviews inventory data and flags slow-moving or obsolete materials for review.
  • Communicates inventory issues to appropriate stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Works with Production, Quality, Procurement, and Finance Teams to ensure alignment on inventory-related processes and data accuracy.
  • Maintains working relationships across departments to facilitate effective problem-solving and process improvement.

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with SAP (or comparable ERP system) in an inventory or materials management capacity.

About the location (Newark OH)

Tectum, Inc., a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI), is one of twenty Armstrong plants in North America. Our Tectum manufacturing plant employs many people across 2 shifts who are involved in the manufacturing and shipping of our Tectum product.  With over 60 years of innovation and experience in reducing noise worldwide, our Tectum plant has the right product for your noise problem.
