Senior Consulting Manager, Financial Reporting (Workiva)

Location

Clearsulting is headquartered in Cleveland, OH, with additional offices located in Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; and Dallas, TX. Other cities are welcome remotely. Office Options: Hybrid or Remote. Team members residing within a 45 minute commuting radius of a Clearsulting office, we expect 8 days of in-person work per month, allowing flexibility choosing these days to accommodate client meetings, team syncs and individual schedules. Travel Expectations: 20-40%

What you’ll do

Lead end-to-end Workiva implementation engagements for large, complex organizations, partnering with finance, accounting, and reporting stakeholders to design, implement, and deploy solutions that improve financial reporting and disclosure management.

Provide delivery leadership across Workiva implementation engagements, ensuring high-quality execution, adherence to leading practices, and successful client outcomes.

Build trusted relationships with client executives and project sponsors, proactively managing expectations, risks, scope, and overall engagement health.

Serve as a subject matter expert on Workiva capabilities and leading practices for financial reporting and disclosure management.

Mentor, coach, and develop consultants by providing technical guidance, reviewing work products, and supporting career development.

Collaborate with firm leadership to support business development activities, including proposal development, solution design, client presentations, and scoping of new opportunities.

Contribute to the development of implementation methodologies, reusable assets, accelerators, and internal best practices.

Effectively manage multiple client engagements while balancing quality, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications.

Consistently follow firm methodologies, quality standards, and delivery practices.

What You’ll Bring

6-8+ years of experience leading Workiva implementations with responsibility for solution delivery, client engagement, and project leadership.

Deep expertise with the Workiva platform, including financial reporting, disclosure management, document collaboration, and related capabilities.

CPA required or preferred, or equivalent experience in financial reporting, SEC/SEDAR reporting, external reporting, technical accounting, or corporate accounting.

Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, reporting processes, disclosure management, and reporting controls.

Proven experience leading cross-functional project teams and managing client relationships with executive and senior finance stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality client solutions while managing project scope, risks, budgets, and timelines.

Experience facilitating executive workshops, gathering business requirements, and translating business needs into scalable Workiva solutions.

Strong consulting, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence executive audiences.

Experience supporting business development efforts, including proposals, solution demonstrations, estimating, and client pursuits.

Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent engagements.

Experience mentoring consultants and developing high-performing delivery teams.

Proficiency with Excel and financial data analysis

Nice-to-Haves

Experience in external reporting or controllership functions within a public company.

Experience with Workiva Wdata, Chains, and platform integrations.

Experience integrating Workiva with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Workday.

Prior experience in management consulting or professional services.

The compensation range for this position is $144,00-$186,000 USD. We are committed to ensuring our offers reflect the value each candidate brings to the role. Final salary placement will be based on upon several factors, including, level of expertise, relevant work experience, technology certifications, educational background, geography and alignment with industry standards. This role is eligible for our bonus program.
