Position Overview:  

The SAP Systems Administator reports to the Manager, SAP Administration and is responsible for system administration for BWXT’s SAP environment. BWXT’s SAP environment is complex and is comprised of 4 separate SAP ERP instances in an air-gapped environment with active S/4HANA migration projects, configured in a global-local architecture. Platforms include both Windows/MS SQL Server and SuSE Linux (HANA appliances). Related functionality includes SAP Business Intelligence, Process Integration, Solution Manager, Business Objects analytics, Readsoft A/P, SAP Portal, ESS/MSS, Workflow, IntelliCorp LiveCompare, Worksoft Certify, ANCILE (uPerform) and many integrations. Development encompasses ABAP, Webdynpro, ALE/IDOC integration, and integration with Windows systems through BAPI and Web Services.

On site in Barberton, OH or Lynchburg, VA

Your Day to Day as a SAP Systems Administrator:

  • Support all aspects of SAP system administration. 
  • Implement system upgrades applying support packages.
  • Perform monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Complete transport management, and other SAP and related administration (such as MS SQL Database Administration).
  • Participate in governance controls, documentation and reporting activities (i.e. DOE and SOX audits).

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field. 
  • At least 10 years of experience in SAP technologies. Prior experience should include SAP System Administration (BASIS) in Windows/MS SQL Server and SuSE Linux environments for:
    • ECC 6.0 • Business Warehouse and Business Intelligence 4.x (formerly Business Objects)
    • Enterprise Portal 7.x
    • Solution Manager 7.x
    • PI process integration 7.5
    • NW Gateway 7.5
  • Previous administration experience with both ABAP and JAVA stacks.
  • Hands-on Installation and Upgrade/Enhancement Pack experience.
  • Transport Management background, including Landscape Configuration (CTS and CTS+).
  • Experience with Installation and Configuration of “Bolt-On” products (such as DGN Transport Connect, EPI-USE DSM, SEAL Systems, etc.).
  • Experience with HANA DB on SuSE Linux.
  • Significant troubleshooting skills to adapt quickly to new systems and technologies.
  • Analytical skills with strong communications and customer orientation.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q clearance.

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), Microsoft SQL Server, SAP HANA, disaster recovery, and ITIL operational practices.
  • Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Fiori, Gateway, CDS Views, OData Services, RAP, SAP Integration Suite, Azure cloud services, DevOps practices, SAP GRC Access Control, Identity Management, ALM, and enterprise modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with BW4HANA and/or S/4HANA.
  • Experience with configuration of High Availability applications.

Pay: $86,450 - $136,000

The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $86,450 and $136,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
