The SAP Basis Administrator will be a critical hands-on resource providing support in executing the programs, projects, and day-to-day operational responsibilities in delivery of SAP Basis services for ITT’s global enterprise.  This role is a part of the SAP BASIS  team in the ITT IT Enterprise Services shared service organization which ensures alignment and delivery of all SAP services for the ITT Corporation and Value Centers. Support of SAP is an integral component in the delivery of both business efficiencies and tangible benefits given that it is the ERP system of choice across the ITT businesses enabling an integrated approach involving systems, processes, and people.

As an SAP Basis Administrator , you will play a pivotal role in supporting the SAP landscape. The Junior SAP BASIS Administrator will execute SAP technical operations, migrations, upgrades, and cloud transformations across complex SAP landscapes. This role requires hands-on expertise in Windows Sever Cluster, SQL DB, S/4HANA, RISE with SAP, SAP HANA administration, cloud platforms, BASIS architecture, security, BTP, third party systems and project leadership, with the ability to manage enterprise-scale environments and support modernization initiatives. Independently drive issue resolution coordinating with all parties as needed to drive results under the guidance of senior resources.

  • SAP BASIS Administration: Installation, configuration, EHP Upgrades, System Refresh, Kernel Upgrades& Support Pack upgrades, SNC configuration, SAP GUI Configuring, DB Refresh, Database Backup/Recovery, DR maintenance & Support, Client administration, System Landscape design, Spool management and transport strategy, integration TMS, Vulnerabilities and remediation and Performance Tuning, Cloud Connector.
  • Support and execute S/4HANA upgrades, conversions, and migrations (Greenfield & Brownfield), including RISE with SAP.
  • SAP HANA Database Administration: Administer SAP HANA 2.0 databases (scale-up and scale-out), Configure and manage HANA System Replication (HSR), Perform backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and execution (RTO/RTA), Conduct performance tuning, memory management, SQL optimization, and data growth management.
  • Support Oracle and MS SQL database administration where applicable.
  • RISE with SAP, Cloud, On-Prem Infrastructure: Support RISE onboarding, including network connectivity, VPN, VPC/VNET peering, routing, and firewall configurations, collaborate with hyperscale’s (AWS, Azure) for infrastructure optimization, Manage Linux (SUSE/RHEL), Windows clusters, SQL DB Cluster, HA and DR environments etc.
  • SAP BTP Administration and Automation: High level knowledge of SAP BTP, Administer SAP BTP global accounts, subaccounts, entitlements, and quotas, establish secure connectivity via Cloud Connector, support extensions and integrations with S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, and other SAP SaaS etc
  • Security, SSO, Compliance: Implement SSO, SSL certificates, SNC, and identity integrations, provide audit support. Knowledge of SAP Security Activities (Profiles, Roles, User Administration, User Termination, User Creation). Knowledge of SOX, ITGC, ITAR, and regulated compliance environments.
  • Operations & Support: Manage upgrades, patches, kernel updates, and support packs, perform client administration, transport management, spool management, and monitoring, support backup, disaster recovery, audits, and compliance activities, provide on-call and production support, lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Incident and Service Management: Handle end-to-end ticket management across SAP landscapes, including Incidents, Service Requests, Problems, and Changes. Lead Major Incident (P1/P2) management, including rapid triage, stakeholder communication, vendor coordination, and service restoration. Act as the technical lead during P1 outages, ensuring adherence to SLAs  and escalation protocols. Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring and high-severity incidents; drive permanent corrective and preventive actions.
  • Problem Management: Support problem management lifecycle, identifying trends, systemic issues, and opportunities for stability and performance improvements.
  • Support non-production and weekend production patching activities.
  • Provide on-call support during weekday and weekend as required.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and SAP ECS teams to resolve complex cross-domain issues.
  • Drive continuous service improvement (CSI) initiatives based on incident analytics and operational KPIs.
  • Ensure operational readiness through runbooks, SOPs, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support on-call rotations and provide after-hours support for critical production issues.
  • Documentation, SOPs & Knowledge Management: Create, maintain, and govern technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, landscape designs, and configuration baselines. Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for SAP BASIS, HANA, cloud operations, backups, DR, security, and transport management. Author and maintain runbooks for critical operational activities, P1 incident handling, startup/shutdown procedures, and recovery scenarios. Produce knowledge articles (KBA) for recurring incidents, known errors, and operational best practices to reduce MTTR. Ensure documentation supports audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements (SOX, ITGC, ITAR).Maintain RCA documentation, corrective action plans, and preventive controls with clear ownership and timelines. Support knowledge transfer (KT) activities for internal teams and offshore/onshore partners.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business or Computer Science); MBA a plus
  • Must be a US citizen
  • 3-5 years of experience in SAP Basis, 1 year of SAP Security with proven track record in large, complex organizations. 
  • Experience with SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP  4.0B/AS 400 is required
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Basis tasks such as designing and implementing landscape and infrastructure, client strategy, capacity planning (sizing), high-availability and disaster-recovery setup, backup and recovery strategy, storage systems, SAP upgrades, OS/DB migration and Basis administration
  • Knowledge in supporting solutions around SAP ecosystems and a technology stack of S/4 HANA, SAP Enterprise Core Component (ECC), Business Intelligence (BI), Enterprise Portal (EP), SAP HANA, Suite on HANA, BW on HANA, SLD, Process Integration (PI/PO), Fiori, CRM, EWM, LVM, Solution Manager, BOBJ BI/BODS, GRC, Content Server, JAVA systems etc.
  • Good knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems. Knowledge should include performance analysis and debugging. High level of knowledge on HA/DR technologies including design and implementation of Geographically Dispersed HA/DR solutions Experience with traditional and advanced environment monitoring and alerting techniques.
  • Knowledge of  Hyper-Visor.
  • Knowledge with planning, design, installation, and technical configuration of SAP modules and components.
  • Experience with complex SAP and non-SAP technical integration and monitoring solutions for SAP applications and platforms Strong organizational skills
  • Good Knowledge of supporting SAP instances on SQL database and performing SQL database operations.

The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.
Annual salary range is from $88,800.00 to $132,600.00, plus benefits & incentive plan.
