Position Summary

The SAP Basis Consultant is responsible for designing, building, and managing client SAP environments to ensure secure, stable, and high-performing systems. This role leads SAP system administration activities—including installations, upgrades, tuning, and security—while mentoring junior consultants and collaborating with stakeholders to support the design and implementation of SAP solutions. The Senior Consultant also drives continuous improvement and ensures adherence to C5MI's quality and security standards.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Contributes to SAP solution design, including building Proofs of Concept (PoCs) for new projects or enhancements.
  • Provides expert support for SAP installations, migrations, integrations, and system builds.
  • Works with OS and database administrators to optimize system performance and ensure efficient operations.
  • Manages system performance, upgrades, patches, corrections, transport management (CTS/TMS), client strategies, and batch scheduling.
  • Administers SAP systems, including user management, security controls, authentication mechanisms, and compliance with security standards.
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation for SAP systems, configurations, and processes.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex SAP Basis issues in collaboration with technical teams and SAP support.
  • Provides mentorship, knowledge sharing, and technical training to junior consultants and client teams.
  • Tests and validates SAP Basis services to ensure alignment with business processes and requirements.
  • Stays current on SAP Basis advancements, tools, and best practices.
  • Adheres to all certified processes and information security standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 5+ years of SAP Basis systems administration experience.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain upon selection).
  • Advanced understanding of SAP Basis tools and processes (system builds, upgrades, client copies, backup/recovery, HA, etc.).
  • Experience across SAP products such as ECC, S/4HANA, Fiori, and related components.
  • 5 years of experience with SAP system installation, upgrades, performance tuning, and landscape management.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $110,414 – $115,518 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
