Job description

Field Engineer

Employment Type: Full-time, hourly

Compensation: Competitive, negotiable depending on experience

Location: On-site in Santa Teresa, NM

Great Basin Industrial is seeking a Field Engineer to join our Structural, Mechanical, and Piping team in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. This position is responsible for the management and delivery of industrial construction-related projects.

Responsibilities
  • Interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
  • Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work
  • Support in the preparation of work plans and packages
  • Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily timesheets
  • Assist in RFI and Submittals
  • Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's)
  • Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, safety meetings, and safety training
  • Order and schedule material deliveries
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
  • Supervise field operations

Requirements

  • Analysis and critical thinking skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite with strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s).
  • Leadership qualities Must be willing to travel short/long term

Work Environment

  • Work is performed primarily outdoors on active construction sites
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and industrial hazards
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times

Schedule Requirements

  • Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, weekends, or swing shifts as needed to meet project deadlines
