Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answers customer's question's concerning location, price, and use of merchandise
  • Service all customers in your area or phone inquiries in an accurate and courteous manner.
  • Constantly upgrade product knowledge in your area and of all merchandise locations throughout store.
  • Assist customer by walking them to the proper department and personally finding product or by asking for assistance.
  • Basic understanding of computer system and able to complete customer inquiries, quotes and orders as needed.
  • Determine customers' needs by finding requested product or selling them a related or substitute item.
  • Selling and closing sales on a project-oriented basis by demonstrating products of related items to customer and presenting promotional sales product facts, information and product data.
  • Exhibit the ability to service multiple customers in a friendly, efficient and effective manner.
  • Equipment Operation such as but not limited to: pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, saws and specialty equipment where needed

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. One or more years of experience in a retail environment preferred
  • Experience qualifying customer needs and handling customer situations
  • Strong knowledge of technology with the ability to learn new systems effectively and efficiently
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

This is a non-exempt position located at Friedman's Home Improvement, CA retail store. Hours are retail need based from Sunday โ€“ Saturday.
