Pay range for this position is $40.42 - $58.01/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is an Hourly position.
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) is a highly trained and specialized registered nurse who provides compassionate expert level care to aid the recovery of patients who are victims of sexual assault. The SANE promotes and restores patient health and wellness while collaborating with providers and the multidisciplinary team across the care continuum. This position cares for sexual assault patients primarily in the Emergency Department as needed by assessing and supporting physical symptoms while providing psychological support to patients, friends, and families. This position will be in addition to all other employment obligations on the home department and will comply with state law and OSF HealthCare policy when offering medical-forensic care to patients.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • High School Diploma/ GED
Licensure/ Certification:
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing in appropriate state (Illinois or Michigan).
  • Completion of an International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) accredited SANE Adult/Adolescent and/or Pediatric didactic course (if not, completion of didactic training within 6 months).
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Providers BLS is required prior to start date of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • BSN with experience as an RN in emergency, pediatric, or women's nursing.
Licensure/ Certification:
  • Current IAFN national certification: SANE-A and/or SANE-P.
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
  • Completion of the State of Illinois SANE clinical component (if not already completed, this will be required within 6 months of hire).
  • Electronic Medical Record and Microsoft application basic proficiency.
