Job description

Overview
Department: Emergency Unit
Schedule: PRN, Day Shift / Rotating Weekends
Facility: St. Mary's of Nazareth Hospital
Location: Chicago, IL 60622
Responsibilities
The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim. This will include a forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support and participation in legal proceedings. The SANE is expected to follow protocols established by the Medical Director and/or management of the SANE program for which the SANE is employed. The SANE is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid state RN license.
2. Unrestricted State DL
3. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
4. Completed approved Illinois SANE training (40 hours of Didactic coursework)
5. Complete the initial Pediatric SANE training within 6 months of hire.
Pay Transparency
Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $43.00 hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
