Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from surfaces.
  • The sandblaster is responsible for creating a work plan for each day, ensuring it is set up and laid out by the end of the previous workday. This includes prioritizing tasks, organizing resources, and determining the time needed for each job.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Keeping the blast bay clean, ensuring curtains are closed, and keeping the area in front of the blast booth cleaned and cleared of obstructions.
  • Clean the blast booth daily in case the Air Quality Department conducts inspections. This includes removing debris, ensuring proper ventilation, and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintain all sandblasting equipment in good working condition. This includes performing regular inspections, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the specific requirements for each job, including which parts need to be sandblasted and which should not be.
Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of previous experience sandblasting.
  • Must be proficient at operating a blast hose (Single Leg Pump).
  • Ability to identify and achieve SP-1,2,3,5,6,7,10,11,13,15.
  • Ability to blast 150 sq/ft to an SP-10 in 1 hour.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of how to check the circumference of the nozzle for wear and determine its suitability for use.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance checks/inspections on test blast hose. (blown gasket, cracked coupler, soft spots etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair field equipment (Blast pot, Dust collector, Vacuum, etc.)
  • Must be able to work overtime and occasional weeks.
  • Have reliable Transportation and Valid Driver's License.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
