Job description: ASSOCIATE TEACHER


Full-time hourly position $27- $29 per hour. 12 CORE units REQUIRED, Associate Teacher Permit or higher desired. Seeking educators who are passionate about early childhood education and confident in their abilities. Position Description: Assumes responsibility for the development and education of children, modeling of developmentally appropriate curriculum and agency policies and procedures within their assigned classroom.


The Associate Teacher Floater at CYW San Miguel assumes responsibility for supporting the development, care, and education of children while modeling developmentally appropriate practices and adhering to agency policies. CYW is a high-quality, play-based child development program accredited through Quality Matters. Our San Miguel campus serves children from 2 years through 8th grade. In this role, you will help ensure a safe, nurturing environment that meets both Title 5 and Title 22 regulations while fostering strong, collaborative partnerships with families.


The Opportunity: Join our Preschool to School age rooms. We are seeking a confident, skilled educator who can lead through modeling, structure, and relationship-based care.

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Compensation: $27– $29 per hour (Based upon Experience)
  • The Role: Assumes responsibility for a team and the development and education of children. You will model developmentally appropriate curriculum and agency policies while overseeing classroom routines and meal-time clean-up.

  • Requirements: 12 CORE ECE units REQUIRED; 6+ months experience in a licensed facility. Must start within 3 weeks. Live Scan required (reimbursed after 90 days). Competent in childhood education and confident in their abilities. Position Description: Assumes responsibility for the development and education of children, modeling of developmentally appropriate curriculum and agency policies and procedures within their assigned classroom. Must have a passion for helping children grow and learn.
  • Reliable, passionate about the ECE field, excellent customer service, knowledgeable, nurturing, a team player, and strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to start within 3 weeks with Live Scan completed (Live Scan fee reimbursed after 90 days).
  • Willing to work at any of the CYW school sites as needed.
  • Willing to work occasional overtime as needed.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, traverse the workspace, and position oneself at a low level (including floor level) to interact with the children we serve. The employee must be able to use hands and arms to operate equipment and reach. The ability to observe and identify details at close and far range is required. This role requires the ability to exchange accurate information with others.


Environment: Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor settings. The noise level is usually moderate.
