Job description

Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute is looking to hire a Practice Manager to join our team at the San Marco office.

The position is full-time with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and 401K retirement plan.

Location: 1325 San Marco Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207

Schedule: Monday- Friday

The Practice Manager is responsible for the administrative and daily operations of the clinic. This position requires excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality patient care..JOI San Marco has 8 physicians, 6 mid-levels, and 40 staff members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations to ensure clinic runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Provide leadership to physicians and staff in streamlining operations to ensure quality patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.
  • Oversee staff schedules, workflow and productivity. Oversee all personnel recruiting, training, scheduling, staff meetings, evaluations, administration of disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
  • Maintain physician/staff/patient relationships conducive to a positive environment. Maintain and encourage efficient and effective communication with all team members.
  • Ensure staff adheres to Corporate Compliance Programs, HIPAA regulations and all other regulatory standards i.e. annual employee health requirements, mandatory trainings, certifications, credentialing and licensing.
  • Ensure office space, equipment and supplies are provided and maintained appropriately for medical staff, support staff and patient care.
  • Work with vendors, hospital system and the corporate office to ensure alignment with strategic operations and systems continuity.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to keep current with health care trends and practices.
  • Prepare reports and manage assigned projects as necessary.


Position Requirements


  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive management experience in healthcare or physician practice.
  • Knowledge of health administration practices and procedures.
  • Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize functions of a fast-paced unit/practice.
  • Effective analytical, evaluation and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills; while maintaining professionalism, tact and discretion.
  • Prior experience with EMR / practice management system software.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree with a focus in Health Care Administration or related field strongly preferred.


Working Conditions/Physical Demands


Requires sitting and standing associated with an office environment. Performs complex, occasionally challenging varied tasks requiring independent knowledge and exercise of independent judgment.
