Position Summary

Samsung Foundry Product Engineering team serves as the analytical hub that connects the fab process with our end customer product applications.
The team drives new product introductions by checking margin of customer sample and corner lots, verifying new IP, and ensuring successful / on time product qualification. They
lead wafer sort evaluation for Samsung's advanced technology test vehicles to help secure future design wins, establish Failure Analysis workflow, pareto top detractors and work with customer to confirm SCAN and SRAM diagnostic capability with physical failure confirmation. Additionally they
Build yield learning models based on wafer sort or final test data to define root cause and institute countermeasures.
Through these activities, Samsung Foundry Product Engineering aims to ensure robust yield, high quality and efficient testing operations for Samsung's advanced process technologies and its customers.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Closelycollaboratewithteams:Process,DFM,Test,andCustomertoensuremanufacturabilityofSamsung'sproductsandrigorouslyanalyzeEDS/ETandprocessparameterdatatotranslatewafersorttestresultsintoactionstosegregateEDSrelatedanomaliesfromprocessrelatedyielddegradations.
  • ProvidecomprehensivesiliconanalysisacrosstheProcess,Voltage,Temperature,encompassingdevicecharacterization,yieldmodeling,andproblemsolvingwhilesupportingfailureanalysisefforts(eFA/pFA).
  • Identifytrends,deviseinnovativemitigationstrategies,andresolvecomplexyieldandtestchallengesbyLeveraginghighvolumeproductiondata.
  • Monitormassproductionperformance,collaboratewithfabengineeringtorootcausesystematicissues,anddriveyieldtoentitlementtargets. Reviewtestprogramstograspflowandidentifycriticalchangepoints.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • B.S / M.S in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 7+ years of Product Engineering Experience preferred
  • Strong problem solving and prioritization ability.
  • Strong statistics and data analysis background (JMP/Spotfire)
  • Experience with new product introduction, device / environmental qualification, and yield ramp

  • Extensive experience in data mining and statistical analysis using Standard Test Data Format (STDF) to identify yield detractors and parametric trends.
  • Proficient in mapping wafer sort bin and parametric data back to fab electrical test (E-test/WAT) results to build yield learning model and drive root cause identification.
  • Skilled in utilizing scan diagnostics and SRAM bitmap analysis to isolate defects and effectively drive Physical Failure Analysis (PFA) to confirm failure modes.
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor test methodologies with a strong ability to deconvolute Design / Fab / Test failures.
  • Ability to develop, modify, or maintain automation scripts and data analysis tools using Python, C, or Java (highly advantageous).
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) & Technology Qualification: Proven track record of participating in new product introduction (NPI) and advanced semiconductor technology node bring-up and qualification phases.
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience evaluating the wafer sort test up to product launch.
  • Work with customers at kick off, validate CS lots, evaluate margin of Corner wafers, and support successful qualification

The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
