Job Description

Our Livonia, MI laboratory is looking for a Field Services Technician to join their team!  The Field Services Technician is responsible for performing field analyses and collecting environmental samples in accordance with federal, state, and company guidelines. The Field Services Technician is expected to follow all health and safety protocols and document all sampling activity as outlined in the company standard operating procedures. This position is required to commute to/from client sites to collect samples and deliver them to the laboratory. The Field Services Technician is expected to demonstrate safe defensive driving behavior and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Job functions:

  • Collects soil, water, and waste samples from client sites in accordance with federal, state, and company guidelines
  • Schedules collection services and travels to client sites using a company vehicle
  • Performs analyses in the field in accordance with standard operating procedures; transports sampling equipment from location to location
  • Documents all field sampling activities in an accurate and detailed manner
  • Delivers collected samples back to the laboratory
  • Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external clients
  • Completes all required training to perform responsibilities in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Assists in Sample Management department as needed
  • Must be comfortable performing all tasks in inclement weather and temperatures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of relevant experience (Required)
  • Associate degree in a science-related field and experience in an environmental laboratory (strongly preferred)
  • Must have a clean and valid driver's license
  • Must be okay with handling different environmental conditions
  • Ability to follow safety protocols
  • Strong English language skills
