Job description

  • Draw blood samples from patients using venipuncture, heel stick, or finger stick techniques.

• Label, record, and transport specimens to laboratories for testing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with protocols.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort, especially when working with children, elderly, or anxious individuals.
• Verify patient identity and ensure proper documentation before sample collection.
• Follow infection control procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
* Creates a welcoming and comfortable environment for everyone in the STI clinic.
• Prepare and maintain equipment, including needles, vials, and tourniquets.
• Enter data into electronic health records (EHR) systems and manage specimen tracking.
* Correctly label samples.
* Manage appointments
* Field work during events or outreach.
* Prepares samples of Urine, Feces, and other body fluids and correctly labels them.
* Works closely with Dr., Nurse Practitioners and the clinic team to achieve healthy outcomes.
