The Sample Coordination (Sample Receipt) Specialist is a key member of QPS’ Bioanalytical Support team, ensuring that samples and other controlled materials are received, tracked, and returned safely without loss or damage. This role requires comfort with computer systems and databases, and requires independence, attention to detail, organization, and juggling multiple tasks.

The Job

  • Receive, process, store, distribute, track, and return client samples and other controlled materials without loss or damage. Includes:
  • Complete inventory and document discrepancies
  • Receive and reconcile shipped samples with paper manifests and an electronic database
  • Learn and run LIMS (database) for tracking of samples through their life cycle at QPS
  • Import data from varying documents into LIMS using Excel manipulation
  • Review associated documentation to ensure compliance with FDA regulations, GLPs, and QPS SOPs.
  • Communicate issues found to Principal Investigator (PI) and to external clients
  • Frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.


Work Location

  • This job will be 100% QPS-office/facility based


Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in related science discipline, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • High School Diploma with at least 3 years of relevant work experience may be considered
  • Experience in regulated industries preferred
  • Comfort with computer systems and databases (Excel, Watson LIMS)
