Job description

Under the direction of the Inside Sales Manager - Automotive, the Samples Specialist will be located in our Southfield, MI office and is responsible for coordinating and managing the distribution of samples from our product catalog in a timely fashion. You will gain strong experience working with our sales team and engineers by researching our products and getting them the right parts that meet their needs. You will also gain an understanding of what it takes to succeed in this industry through face-to-face experience in our product demonstration room as you help sales & engineering associates solve the everyday problems they face.
Essential Functions:
  • Establish a product sampling system serving the Detroit area, with shipping domestically
  • Utilize ERP daily to enter sample orders, check availability
  • Process and maintain sample requests from start to finish, including data entry, tracking of requests, and delivery confirmations
  • Review of paperwork/emails against data entries to ensure accuracy
  • Delivery of samples to customers as needed
  • Provide tracking to customers and internal associates
  • Perform cost analysis/tracking monthly for continual program improvement
  • Research parts on internal platforms to confirm samples meet customer and company needs
  • Maintain HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 EMS certifications by executing all corporate policies and procedures.

Other Functions
  • Provide back-up to the Southfield Quoting Specialist
  • Provide backup to other Sample Specialists

Key Competencies
  • Coordinate and maintain a product sampling system.
  • ERP/Shipping System Manual Data Entry of Sample Orders
  • Process sample orders from start to finish, including daily tracking
  • Cost tracking/analysis monthly for continual program improvement
  • Research parts on internal platforms to confirm samples meet customer and company needs
  • Accuracy of Data- maintain tracking of who requests and for what automotive programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience)
  • High School Diploma or equivalency required
  • 2-3 years of related experience
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be a detail-oriented self-starter
  • Ability to work independently or within a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driving License, acceptable driving record, and adequate insurance required.
