Same Day Delivery (SDD) and Curbside Manager

Job Summary
This position reports directly to the Director of Marketplace Services and Learning under the Technology and Strategy Department. The purpose of the job is to oversee the performance and growth of the Same Day Delivery and Curbside programs. The SDD & Curbside Manager must enjoy working within an entrepreneurial environment that is driven, fast-paced, analytical, and customer/community oriented. The ideal individual is highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations; strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills; and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.
This role is project and goal-driven - the SDD & Curbside Manager sets clear targets for fleet and program performance, tracks progress against them and follows through on initiatives from planning to execution. The role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operations of the Hollywood Feed Same Day Delivery fleet and curbside pickup program, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. The SDD & Curbside Manager will need to have the ability to work independently on projects from beginning to end, manage multiple concurrent initiatives with precision, and handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Maintenance & Fleet Support
  • Manage the Same Day Delivery (SDD) vehicle fleet, ensuring efficient operations and compliance.
  • Monitor vehicle recalls and service campaigns to ensure timely compliance with safety requirements.
  • Research and compare fleet platforms to determine the best fit for current and future needs.
  • Negotiate purchasing terms and finalize contracts for delivery fleet assets and platforms.
  • Oversee, negotiate, research, the purchase of all Same Day Delivery fleet vehicles.
  • Evaluate and prepare markets for delivery vehicle launches and coverage expansions.
  • Oversee & Manage platforms supporting the Transportation Team as well as Corporate Travel Logistics.

Driver & Vehicle Record Management
  • Maintain Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) files for all Same Day Delivery drivers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the delivery fleet vehicles, including registration, insurance, and licensing information.

Store Support & Monitoring
  • Provide daily support to stores, ensuring smooth operations of the Same Day Delivery program, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Research complaints and provide feedback regarding Same Day Delivery and Curbside experiences.

Telematics & Compliance Support
  • Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting telematics systems used by the delivery fleet.
  • Utilize telematics analytics to track employee performance, analyze data, and implement improvements for optimal efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce SDD and Curbside Pickup policies and procedures for fleet operations, driver safety, and delivery customer service.
  • Conduct and create relevant employee training programs to enhance driver skills, safety awareness, and delivery customer service.
  • Manage and maintain all Driving Reports, Reinstatement Plans, and Trainings for all active drivers.
  • Partner cross-functionally with other departments on projects and initiatives beyond core SDD and Curbside operations as business needs arise.
  • Partner closely with the Director and SVP on key decisions, staying mindful of broader impact to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Review telematics data, including camera footage and driving behavior alerts.
  • Address camera-related violations within the Geotab platform in collaboration with Store and Operations teams.

Reporting & Invoicing Support
  • Oversee accident claims and serve as a liaison between corporate and insurance providers.
  • Compile and maintain all SDD & Curbside KPI reporting.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • This position is a minimum 45 hour per week position that will require weekend and evening availability.
  • This position requires the ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills showcasing the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate.
  • Great team-player, with the ability to also be effective independently. Must be able to communicate positive and negative feedback to store staff, direct reports, peers and leaders.
  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions. Open to brainstorming focused on continuous improvement.
  • Experience utilizing Google Workspace and Microsoft Office programs - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Able to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Physically able to perform the job functions for 8-10-hour workdays.
  • Employees may be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted, along with bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and other physical movements essential to daily tasks.

Education & Experience
• High School Diploma or GED required.
