Job Summary
The Caregiver role is a crucial position for those who rely on others for basic daily care, such as bathing, eating, and personal hygiene. Caregivers typically work with elderly or disabled individuals in a facility or home care setting. We are looking for candidates in the following service areas; DOWNTOWN,CENTRAL SAN DIEGO, LA JOLLA ENCINITAS, DEL MAR, SOLONA BEACH.

Salus Homecare is looking for caregivers available to work 4, 8 and 12 hour shifts available apply today-work tomorrow.

  • Pays $18 to $22 per hour

Caregiver Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
  • Assist clients with medications, ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments, walks, etc.)
  • Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
  • Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises
  • Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed
  • Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own, including preparing meals
  • Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors, and family members
  • Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors, and family members
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Qualifications:
  • Homecare Aide Certification (HCA) - This is a CA State requirement which involves registering as a Personal Attendant and providing Livescan fingerprints for a FBI Background check - Salus can help you with this process if you are not currently certified.
  • TB Test - Must be within 90 days of start
  • Must be able to legally work within the USA
  • Physical capability to preform all job functions
  • Safe driving record and valid auto insurance if you will be driving with clients
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English is a requirement
