As a Dispatcher at SalSon Logistics, you'll be responsible for coordinating the timely and efficient delivery of goods and services to and from the Pier. You will act as a central point of communication between dispatchers, drivers, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. You must have knowledge of NY and NJ piers and ports.
Description of Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assign drivers to specific routes, load assignments, or customer orders using both in-person and digital dispatching systems (such as profit tools). Ensure that drivers are properly equipped with necessary instructions, documentation, and equipment for their deliveries.
• Monitor driver progress and track delivery status to ensure on-time delivery of goods or services to customers. Take necessary actions to address delays, reroute drivers if required, and communicate changes to customers and relevant parties.
• Utilize geotagging tools and software to track driver locations and optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor and review footage from camera systems installed in delivery vehicles to ensure compliance with safety protocols, identify any issues or incidents, and take appropriate action as necessary.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for drivers, Maintain effective communication channels to provide updates, address questions or concerns, and resolve any delivery-related issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of delivery schedules, customer orders, driver logs, and any other relevant documentation. Ensure that all necessary paperwork, such as shipping manifests, proof of delivery, and invoices, are completed accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of logistics, drayage, or trucking dispatch experience
• 2+ years of pier container experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Profit Tools or Trinium.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Linehaul Transportation a plus.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with camera systems and geotagging tools is a plus.
