Job description

The Salesforce Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring that the Salesforce database directly supports the programmatic and organizational strategies of Share Our Strength. This role serves as the organization's primary Salesforce subject matter expert and technical owner of an actively evolving platform spanning Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud, supporting 110+ internal, 1,900+ external portal users, and multiple integrations. The Salesforce Systems Administrator is responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions, driving organizational independence from external consultants, and building and maintaining the operational and documentation infrastructure that supports the CRM function as it scales to meet the organization's growing programmatic needs.
This position is preferably based in Washington, DC; but could be fully remote for the right candidate. The position offers a salary range of $91k-$98k. Exact compensation within the stated salary range may vary based on skills, experience, internal equity, and geographical location.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the organization's primary Salesforce technical lead across Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud, including third-party Salesforce tools, driving the ongoing design and expansion of an actively evolving platform, and ensuring the platform architecture is scalable, sustainable, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Maintain automated backups of production data and metadata as well as overall data integrity of Salesforce through regular audits and ensure that Program CRM supports Share Our Strength's programmatic and organizational goals; stay abreast of data integrity best practice processes, methods and technology tools.
  • Manage advanced configuration, including designing and building custom objects and relationships, dynamic forms across complex objects with 400+ fields, automating business processes using Salesforce Flows, creating formula and rollup summary fields, adding and editing fields, changing page layouts, and editing permissions.
  • Manage and troubleshoot data migrations and integrations from external sources to Salesforce. Collaborate with IT, Data Analytics, and external developers on bidirectional AWS-Salesforce integration, aligning data mapping requirements, providing solution design input, and conducting ongoing monitoring to ensure data integrity.
  • Design and build advanced reports, custom report types, and dashboards that aggregate data across multiple objects to support evolving reporting needs.
  • Create and maintain system documentation infrastructure, templates and standards, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure documentation is completed for both internally and externally delivered work.. Lead development of data dictionaries and field mapping resources for core Salesforce objects, supporting data consistency for objects with multiple integrations and cross-departmental users.
  • Manage data hygiene efforts, including developing and maintaining the organization's duplicate management protocol, implementing necessary validation and duplicate rules, and providing oversight to the CRM Manager and superusers on consistent application.
  • Proactively make recommendations on system improvements through independent assessment of technical risk, participation in workgroup and requirements gathering processes, and evolving business needs of the department and organization.
  • Partner with colleagues to support Share Our Strength's work to be a diverse and inclusive organization, and ensuring this value is embedded in the organization and throughout our work.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required, or equivalent professional and work experience, minimum 5 years relevant experience and at least 3 years experience with Salesforce.
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification required. Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification preferred.
  • Salesforce experience in a non-profit setting or working with a non-profit highly preferred.
  • Highly organized with a successful track record initiating and managing multiple complex projects and priorities while managing workflow in a deadline-driven and service-focused environment.
  • Proactive and self-starter with excellent problem-solving and implementation skills. Especially important is the ability to experiment and iterate, while on the road building sustainable products.
  • Proven strong technical communications skills and ability to synthesize technical information into clear messages for various audiences.
  • Creative, curious, intuitive, and resourceful; exceptional attention to detail.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills while working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fluid environment.
  • MS Office proficiency.
