QA Tester - Manual & Automation

Carson City, NV

Scope of Work

Manual Testing Responsibilities (Approximately 75%)

  • Participate as a Quality Assurance team member within Agile Scrum teams supporting Salesforce implementation and enhancement efforts.
  • Review business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria to ensure complete test coverage.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain manual test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts for functional, integration, system, regression, end-to-end, exploratory, and user acceptance testing.
  • Perform exploratory testing to identify functional issues, usability concerns, and edge cases not captured through scripted testing.
  • Validate end-to-end business processes across Salesforce and integrated applications.
  • Execute regression testing during sprint, release, and production deployment cycles.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using the State''s defect management tools and processes.
  • Verify defect corrections and perform regression testing to ensure fixes do not adversely impact existing functionality.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and provide testing support to business stakeholders.
  • Assist with production validation activities following software deployments.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, Vendors, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
  • Maintain testing documentation, traceability, test evidence, and quality assurance artifacts in accordance with DMV standards.
  • Provide regular status updates regarding testing progress, risks, issues, and recommendations.
  • • Serve as the QA Lead in the absence of the designated QA Lead, assuming responsibility for oversight, coordination, and execution of QA activities as required.

Automation Testing Responsibilities (Approximately 25%)

  • Develop, execute, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Copado Robotic Testing (CRT).
  • Identify manual regression test cases that are appropriate candidates for automation.
  • Create and maintain reusable automation components and automated regression suites.
  • Execute automated test suites to support sprint, release, and production validation activities.
  • Analyze automation execution results and troubleshoot automation failures to distinguish between application defects, script failures, environmental issues, and test data issues.
  • Update automation scripts as Salesforce functionality and business processes evolve.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA team members to improve automation coverage and testing efficiency.
  • Document automation assets, execution results, and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to expand automation coverage while maintaining a strong manual testing practice.
