Job Description
The Practice Lead reports to the Client Services Director. They will work with Redpath's clients, account executives, and client partners during the pre-sales process to design and estimate solutions their team members will deliver. During projects, the Practice Lead will help their team of Salesforce developers successfully solve problems and create solutions for clients. The Practice Lead will be responsible for the growth of their team's technical competency and skills, creating and maintaining Redpath's development standards, process, and tools, and guiding prospective clients through pre-sales discovery. Successful candidates will have proven experience in a senior development role and a strong aptitude for leading a team of Salesforce developers.
Accountabilities
Leadership
  • Create highly capable, high performing team within the Salesforce Development practice area
  • Manage Key Results Areas (KRAs) and ensure that each team member scores a "Meets Expectations" or above
  • Define skill development plans for each consultant; nominate and manage specialists and skill sets related to specializations
  • Conduct quarterly performance evaluations for each team member and ensure performance issues are resolved
  • Plan for team growth and participate in recruiting process to fill open roles
  • Provide technical and strategic leadership to team members
  • Ensure all team members use and understand standard Redpath processes and tools
  • Ensure all team members maintain and obtain Salesforce.com certifications to achieve partnership level goals and validate skill sets

Practice Area Development
  • Act as a thought leader for practice area (ex. Writing blog posts, speaking at events, giving demos, etc.)
  • Maintain knowledge base of code languages, development tools, clouds, and related solutions within the designated practice area
  • Develop & maintain Redpath engineering standards & processes
  • Ensure that Specializations and Certifications are acquired in order to maintain and advance partnership levels and Redpath's capabilities
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching to the Salesforce Development team
  • Create and communicate a vision for the practice to their team members as well as Redpath's leadership team
  • Create goals, metrics, and related success metrics and communicate progress against them

Customer Focus
  • Act as an advocate for Redpath, Salesforce, and Redpath's clients
  • Provide pre-sales solution engineering and estimation support
  • Coach team members to provide great solutions & service to Redpath's clients

Project Delivery
  • Ensure all team members are competent and capable of delivering Redpath solutions and services
  • Maintain project delivery standards as set forth by the Client Services Director
  • Collaborate with sales team to ensure that Redpath estimates and pre-sales process support business goals
  • Develop and maintain reusable code and components
  • Act as point of escalation for technical questions and assist team in solving them
