Overview:
The Senior Business Analyst for Retail requires deep understanding of the Annuities value chain and deep understanding and work experience in Salesforce Financial Services Cloud. This individual is a key contributor within the IT organization, operating as advisor to business leaders and key partners. This role is accountable for translating business strategy into technology-enabled solutions, driving alignment across stakeholders, and ensuring delivery of initiatives that generate measurable business value. This position serves as the Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC) subject-matter expert, partnering with business and delivery teams to shape, configure, and deliver CRM capabilities that support Talcott's retail annuity operations.
The selected candidate will work independently supporting cross-functional efforts to influence decision-making and ensure adherence to enterprise standards. Our selected candidate shall work out of our Hartford, CT. office on a hybrid schedule. Remote work arrangements will be considered.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure business requirements and solutions are designed with flexibility, scalability, and future-state adaptability in mind.
  • Lead requirements gathering, business process analysis, and participate in solution design, and testing for complex initiatives working closely with cross functional and the vendor teams.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure clarity, alignment, and successful delivery.
  • Perform data analysis to trace and validate annuity data across upstream, administration, and downstream systems, identifying root causes of issues and gaps.
  • Translate business questions into data-driven insights, connecting system behavior back to annuity processes and outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency improvements.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and working sessions to drive alignment, gather requirements, and support informed decision-making.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, translating them into user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
  • Analyze and map data flows between Salesforce and upstream and downstream systems to support integrations, data migration, and reporting.
  • Partner with Internal Sales team, Salesforce administrators, developers, and configuration teams to design, configure, and validate FSC solutions.
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), support release management, and ensure Salesforce solutions meet business, security, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business consulting, business analysis or a related IT function
  • Experience in the financial services industry, insurance, wealth management and/or annuity domains is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on business analysis experience with Salesforce, including at least 2 years supporting Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC).
  • Demonstrated experience with Salesforce FSC, data model and core objects and standard Salesforce configuration such as flows, validation rules, reporting and dashboards
  • Salesforce certification is strongly preferred (e.g., Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Business Analyst, and/or Financial Services Cloud Accredited Professional)
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with other enterprise systems, familiarity with data migration, APIs, and integration concepts
  • Proven experience translating business terminology into technical requirements.
  • Experience with life and annuity policy administration system(s) is a plus
  • Ability to navigate various applications, understand system boundaries, and contribute to scalable, modular solutions
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and support strategic decision-making.
  • Experience operating in environments with formal governance, risk, and control frameworks
  • Strong understanding of business process requirements and solution delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)

Compensation:
This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott's total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives and recognition.
