Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST
Hours: 7.5 hours per day
Openings: 1

About the Role

The State of Tennessee is looking for a senior-level Salesforce developer who can provide both hands-on development expertise and technical leadership across a complex enterprise Salesforce environment.

The organization currently operates 11 Salesforce orgs supporting a combination of:

  • Public Sector Solutions
  • Experience Cloud
  • Service Cloud
  • Sales Cloud

This position will work across multiple Salesforce development teams and will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for solution design, development standards, code reviews, troubleshooting, technical guidance, and evaluation of vendor-developed solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review Apex classes, Apex triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOSL, Salesforce APIs, and integrations.
  • Design secure, scalable, high-performing, and maintainable Salesforce solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to Salesforce development teams.
  • Review complex Salesforce custom development and technical designs.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to Salesforce development best practices.
  • Evaluate vendor-developed Salesforce solutions for quality, scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot complex Salesforce application, integration, and performance issues.
  • Identify technical debt, governor-limit concerns, scalability risks, and security issues.
  • Provide technical recommendations and establish reusable Salesforce development patterns.
  • Mentor and advise Salesforce developers.
  • Participate in release planning, testing, deployment, and environment management.
  • Support Salesforce CI/CD, source control, DevOps, and release-management activities.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, business stakeholders, platform owners, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of professional Salesforce development experience.
  • Expert-level hands-on experience with Apex.
  • Strong hands-on development experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Advanced experience with SOQL and SOSL.
  • Strong experience developing Salesforce integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce APIs.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce security and sharing models.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce governor limits and bulkification.
  • Experience designing scalable and maintainable Salesforce solutions.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex Salesforce custom development.
  • Experience providing technical guidance to developers or development teams.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Certification

Salesforce Platform Developer II (PDII) certification is required or must be obtained within the established timeframe.

Candidates who already hold an active Salesforce Platform Developer II certification are strongly preferred.
