Job description

The Recovery Specialist is responsible for handling all aspects of daily recovery related operations within the Recovery Department. Will help train and mentor the Recovery staff within the department and be responsible for overall technical direction and production of recovery related activities of the team. Assists the Recovery Manager and Recovery Director in the coordination of work activities within the unit. Will assist with invoicing issues, recovery sale proceeds, title distribution, legal issues, salvage liquidation and remarketing needs within the department.
*Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Investigation and Analysis (55%)
  • Review and evaluate settled files that come from Claims to determine new assignment distribution to recovery staff.
  • Responsible for the distribution to staff of special incentive assignments for recovery vendors.
  • Regularly handles a partial skip claim portfolio while handling all salvage files
  • Responsible for the initial review of recovery related Legal issues by facilitating the Allied Legal Referral form and following up with Allied Legal department.
  • Oversee the entire Salvage process including management of individual salvage assignments, title document requests, bid approvals and sale proceeds received.

Training/ Educating/Mentoring (30%)
  • Provides guidance and instruction to team members for recovery related questions
  • Communicates procedure updates in email and/or template form
  • Helps train and educate new employees with processes and procedures
  • Ability to explain the recovery process to lenders and outside contacts
  • Collaborates with Team members, Upper Management and other departments to achieve the overall best Recovery results
  • Implements policies and procedures under the direction of higher-level management

Reporting/ ACH Processing/ Manager Backup (15%)
  • Assist Recovery Manager in the management of the proper disbursement of ACH and Recovery proceeds to insurance carriers
  • Update Recovery spreadsheets timely and with accurate sale information
  • Assist Recovery Manager and Recovery Director to ensure the Team meets service level requirements and service level standards

*Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3 - 4 years related experience
