Job description

About the Role

HYE USA is expanding its U.S. market presence and diversifying beyond its core semiconductor client base. As part of this growth, we are hiring a Sales Assistant to support our Local Sales / New Account Business Development effort. This role is not a back-office support position, it is a front-line, execution-focused role responsible for opening new customer relationships in the U.S. market and connecting those opportunities into HYE USA's internal sales and estimating process.

You will work directly with the Sales Lead for coaching and strategic direction, and with the Estimator & Technical Support lead to move qualified opportunities into proposals. Over time, this role is expected to grow from customer access and relationship-building into full ownership of small and mid-size project pursuits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sales & Proposal Support

1. Sales Support

  • Identify and research potential new customers across target U.S. industrial, EPC, and general contractor accounts (including strategic targets such as Tesla, SpaceX, Texas Instruments, and other industrial/construction firms)
  • Initiate first contact with prospective customers through cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, industry networking, and trade events
  • Lead initial customer meetings, adapting communication style to U.S. business culture and building long-term trust and rapport
  • Maintain organized records of customer contacts, account status, and pipeline activity
  • Coordinate meetings, schedules, and internal communication related to sales and business development activities
  • Travel extensively throughout the United States to meet customers, attend site visits, and support business development activities

2. Proposal Support

  • Collect and document potential project and business opportunity information, including scope, schedule, and decision-making process
  • Support NDA execution and vendor registration processes with new customers as needed
  • Coordinate with the Estimator & Technical Support lead to gather the technical input needed for budgetary pricing and proposals
  • Assist in preparing company profiles, reference materials, and budgetary pricing packages; support submission and follow-up on proposals

3. Administrative & Coordination Support

  • Partner with the Sales Lead to evaluate opportunity fit and align on pursuit strategy
  • Support communication between internal teams (sales, estimating, technical support, etc.)
  • Participate in a structured onboarding program covering company capability, sales process, and hands-on meeting practice
  • Perform general administrative tasks related to sales and business development processes as needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizen with a Bachelor's degree
  • 3–5 years of experience in sales or business development, ideally in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or engineering-related environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with cold outreach and building a customer network from the ground up
  • Korean language proficiency is not required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mechanical engineering background or technical familiarity with industrial/plant construction projects
  • Prior experience selling into semiconductor, industrial, EPC, or general contractor markets
  • Experience supporting or coordinating proposal, bid, or estimating processes
