Job description

Sales Manager
Overview
We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Sales Manager to lead our direct/outside sales organization within a fast‑paced Managed Service Provider (MSP) and Telecom environment. This is not a desk‑only leadership role — the Sales Manager will actively join sales calls, client meetings, and field appointments to coach sales representatives in real time and model high‑impact sales execution. The ideal candidate understands the MSP sales cycle, excels at building recurring‑revenue pipelines, and is a Salesforce power user who enforces CRM discipline and data accuracy. A technical background or prior experience in solution-based IT or telecom sales is a significant plus, especially for candidates familiar with connectivity, voice, and unified communications solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of outside sales representatives focused on selling Managed IT, Cybersecurity, UCaaS and Internet services.
  • Participate directly in prospect meetings, discovery calls, demos, and field appointments with sales reps to provide coaching and support.
  • Coach the team on prospecting, solution positioning, and long‑term account development.
  • Conduct regular field coaching, ride‑alongs, and performance reviews to strengthen sales execution.
  • Ensure Salesforce data integrity across the team, actively managing pipeline, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Analyze Salesforce dashboards and KPIs to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improved performance.
  • Collaborate with Technical, Operations, and Marketing teams to align on solution packaging, pricing, and go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Onboard and train new sales team members with a focus on successful pipeline building.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to ensure a results-driven culture of accountability and transparency.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in direct/outside B2B sales, with a minimum of 2 years in sales management role.
  • Prior experience selling within an MSP or IT services environment is required.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams to exceed quota in a recurring revenue or services‑based model.
  • Hands‑on leadership style — must be comfortable joining calls, attending meetings, and working in the field with reps.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and the ability to run and interpret reports, dashboards and manage pipelines. Strong understanding of MSP offerings such as managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud services, and IT consulting.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and motivational leadership skills.
  • Data‑driven mindset with the ability to translate metrics into actionable strategies.
  • High level of accountability, organization, and follow‑through.
  • This position will report directly to the EVP of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Telecom industry experience is a major plus, especially with connectivity, UCaaS/VoIP, SD‑WAN, or carrier services.
  • Experience scaling sales teams in a high‑growth MSP or technology services company.
  • Salesforce admin or advanced user certifications.
  • Familiarity with MSP tools and ecosystems (PSA, RMM, cybersecurity stacks).
  • Experience implementing or optimizing sales processes and CRM workflows.
