Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our team is growing! We’re looking for a strategic, responsible, and disciplined individual to fill the Sales Manager role.


The Sales Manager will be a vital part of the Hotel Sales Team. Their primary role is to plan, book, service and coordinate guest rooms blocks and group meetings to enable the hotel to meet and/or exceed revenue goals. This position offers growth opportunity.


Responsibilities

Handle bookings and all aspects of managing Small Meetings and Groups within assigned markets.

Work to book business according to the hotel’s budget and sales goals.

Manage all group room blocks and rooming lists while working to optimize inventory and maximize revenue.

Assist with follow-up on cut-off dates, billing and other logistical requirements for incoming groups and events. Collaborates with all operational departments to communicate group details.

Write proposals, contracts and Banquet Event Orders.

Work with clients to ensure planned meetings and events align with their needs including catering, function space and guest rooms.

Liaise with each department to ensure meetings and events match the clients’ requirements.

Maintain accurate, legible records and files in the Customer Relations Management System (CRM).

Execute assigned sales reporting and ensure all deadlines are met.

Develop, negotiate, book and service new and repeat business.

Participate in weekly business review meeting, training and other sales-related meetings.

Other responsibilities as assigned, responsibilities are subject to change.


Skills: Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrates independent problem-solving skills and identify process improvements needed.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.

Strong work ethic and professional focus; High level of integrity and discretion.


Experience:

Past hotel sales experience preferred 2 - 3 years with in hospitality industry.

Maintains a professional attitude while working with clients and staff.

Superb communication skills and strong attention to detail while working with clients and other members of staff.

Excellent organizational and leadership skills would be an asset.

Ability to be flexible and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions.

Ability to build relationships and maintain positive working relationships with both clients and staff.


Salary based on experience.


Benefits available after 90 days.
