With a diverse product range including framing lumber, engineered wood products, trusses, siding, electrical components, and more, we help build better products more efficiently.Job SummaryThe Sales Trainee is responsible for learning Company products, policies, and procedures, and performs basic sales and customer service activities. Works under close direction of the Regional Sales Manager; little discretion and judgment on work priority; and a small degree of creativity is expected.TrainingCandidate will be trained across several of our regions to gain broad exposure to our operations, sales processes, and customer base. RelocationCandidates may be based at any of the 10 approved locations initially. However, upon completion of the training program (typically 12 to 24 months after start date), relocation to one of the following Southeast facilities will be required: New London, NC; Haleyville, AL; or Folkston, GA.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understands and applies business math to manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assists in production activities to gain a comprehensive understanding of operational procedures.
  • Develops a thorough knowledge of UFPI-utilized Business Systems, applications, and sales tools.
  • Enters orders in systems accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepares detailed reports as required by supervisors and management.
  • Utilizes MS Office Suite proficiently, including Teams and Outlook, to manage time, communication, and organizational tasks.
  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of company products, procedures, and policies related to sales.
  • Communicates effectively with all organizational levels and the public, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Assists in customer service activities, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Manages multiple tasks simultaneously, sets priorities, and meets deadlines consistently.
  • Plans and executes meetings effectively, ensuring all necessary materials and participants are prepared.
  • Understands the purchasing, shipping, and receiving processes within the company.
  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of the sales cycle and process.
  • Travels with Account Managers to become proficient with industry terms and assist in sales activities.
  • Makes sales calls to current and prospective clients, demonstrating professionalism and product knowledge.
  • Travels to other facilities as part of the best practice training
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing, or equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and other software for business applications
