Job description

Job Overview:

At Champions Group, we're on a mission to elevate our sales team to new heights and are searching for a dedicated Sales Trainer/Coach to join our team. If you have a passion for teaching/coaching and can bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to help our sales team excel, we want to hear from you. As a Division Field Sales Trainer at Champions Group, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our salesforce and ensuring the delivery of top-notch services to our valued customers.

You'll partner directly with local sales managers and their teams across the region - riding along on calls, modeling winning behaviors, delivering training, and holding the bar high on execution. You'll report to the Vice President of Sales and work closely with the Division President (dotted-line) to align regional coaching with division-level goals. If you're motivated by driving measurable results through other people, this role was built for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Training: Conducting sales process training in a classroom setting at various field locations, working with groups of individuals across both dedicated sales and mixed technician/sales roles.
  • On-Site Coaching: Riding with salespeople and technicians during customer visits, demonstrating techniques, and assisting in managing complex customer interactions. Equip sales professionals with the skills to navigate a systematic sales process, providing hands-on coaching to drive successful sales outcomes.
  • Sales Coaching and Mentorship: Teach salespeople and technicians about the key steps of the sales process, how to overcome objections, ethical sales practices, and the value of premium customer service and sales experience. Coach local sales managers on how to coach - raising the leadership bar so improvement sticks after you leave the market.
  • Curriculum Development: Designing and building class materials and curriculum to ensure sales team members are well-prepared to succeed.

Key Projects in Year One:

In your first year as a Sales Coach, you'll focus on:

  • Initial Training: Shadowing a Trainer as they conduct sales training at various locations. Afterward, you'll lead training sessions independently.
  • Curriculum Enhancement: Continually improving the training curriculum, incorporating role-playing exercises, capability assessments, and field observations.
  • Change Management: Leading change initiatives, promoting standardization, and subtly influencing compliance to achieve buy-in.
  • Team Alignment: Collaborating effectively with other teams, fostering teamwork, and ensuring alignment between sales and business development.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: 5+ years of residential home trades, HVAC, or Plumbing sales experience. Demonstrable experience teaching and instructing groups, as well as one-on-one interactions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an energetic approach.
  • Public Speaking: A confident and engaging public speaker who can lead and inspire others in both a classroom setting and in one-on-one scenarios with technicians, salespeople, or homeowners.
  • Sales Process Training: A proven track record of driving sales results - as a top-performing rep, sales trainer, field coach, or sales manager. Demonstrated experience providing sales process training in a multi-location, corporate, or national organization. Ability to identify areas for improvement, develop and execute specialized training for salespersons to produce improved sales outcomes.
  • Business Development: Understanding business development, particularly in generating qualified leads.
  • Technology: Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Suite and various training development tools, to enhance training effectiveness and engagement. Familiarity with Service Titan or similar Home Services tools is preferred.
  • Data and Analytics: Proven understanding of how to use KPIs and pipeline metrics to pinpoint problems and measure the impact of your coaching.
  • Travel Willingness: Willingness to travel extensively, more than 60% of your time (Northern CA, Washington, and Reno), often staying overnight for work.

Benefits:

  • Competitive annual salary + Bonus
  • Health insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement plan: 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off: Generous vacation, holidays, and sick leave.
  • Training and development: Ongoing opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
  • Company culture: A supportive, inclusive, and dynamic work environment focusing on teamwork and employee satisfaction.
