Wieland is hiring a Director of Sales for GX, North America. The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading and executing the commercial strategy for Wieland’s GXNA Continuous Cast business, with a primary focus on achieving budgeted sales volumes and margins. This role drives day-to-day sales execution, develops and strengthens key customer relationships, and leads critical commercial initiatives that support profitable growth.

The Director of Sales owns business unit level sales planning, market intelligence, and forecasting activities, translating strategic objectives into actionable sales plans. Working closely with operations, finance, and senior leadership, the Director ensures alignment between customer demand, pricing strategy, and operational capabilities to deliver sustainable commercial performance.

This role is located in Wakeman, OH and will be a fully on-site position that will require approximately 40% travel.

Responsibilities

Director of Sales Responsibilities:

  • Business Results: Lead and execute the sales strategy for the Wieland Continuous Cast business to achieve budgeted sales volume, revenue, and margin objectives. Drive EBITDA growth.
  • Customer Relationships: Develop, manage, and grow key customer relationships, serving as a senior commercial contact for strategic and high-impact accounts, with support from the sales team.
  • Pricing & Agreements: Lead and facilitate customer agreements, including pricing and contract negotiations, in alignment with established pricing policies and margin objectives. Drive EBITDA growth.
  • Business Development: Identify, champion, and coordinate growth opportunities in collaboration with the Business Development, Sales, and Marketing teams.
  • Market Intelligence: Gather, analyze, and share market and competitive intelligence; regularly report on trends, competitive activity, and customer insights to inform commercial decisions.
  • Forecasting: Own and manage sales forecasting and S&OP inputs for the business unit, ensuring accurate demand visibility and alignment with operations and finance.
  • Strategy & Planning: Lead sales planning activities and support business strategy development, ensuring tactical execution aligns with overall commercial and organizational objectives.
  • Marketing: Oversee the execution of marketing initiatives, including website content, sales materials, advertising, and direct marketing efforts, in partnership with Marketing resources.
  • People Leadership: Establish and review sales territory assignments; lead, develop, and manage sales team members, including performance management, training and development, and talent planning.
  • Values & Culture: Demonstrate a strong commitment to the values, vision, and strategic direction of Wieland while fostering a performance-driven, customer-focused sales culture

Director of Sales Qualifications:

  • Education: BS/BA degree in a relevant field, ideally complimented by an MBA.
  • Experience: 15+ years of relevance experience including sales leadership roles (preferably in continuous cast/copper industry); with a proven track record of working with Operations, Quality and Supply Chain; proficiency with systems (ERP, APS) & applications (MS). Must have experience leading sales teams to align with corporate sales targets, etc.
  • Analytical mind-set: The candidate needs to be able to analyze data, and events to identify opportunities and address inefficiencies, while facilitating timely and effective decision-making based on thorough research, and sound judgment.
  • Commercial Excellence and Growth Focused: The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of sales strategy which is shaped by a customer-centric approach. They will be adept at identifying opportunities and unmet needs, developing strong customer relationships, and leveraging field information to drive engagement and growth.
  • People: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to lead/motivate others, & build/deliver persuasive arguments.
  • Problem Solving: Driven to identify, comprehend, & address customer needs (business, technical, social).
  • Decisions: Facilitate timely and effective decision-making via research/preparation, judgement, & perspective.
  • Approach: Enthusiastic, committed, and target-oriented; creative, resilient, and diplomatically assertive.
  • Results: Record of delivering business results while balancing multiple tasks, stakeholders, and interests.
  • Travel: Willing to travel extensively both nationwide and international.
